A Letter from Our Editors
We have been told that climate change and how we deal with it will be the defining issue of this generation. Which is why we, the Pulse staff, were more than happy to hear that the topic we’d be covering this semester for Pulse Magazine would be “Going Green.”
Throughout this issue, we have highlighted some of the pressing issues our world is facing—and some of the creative solutions people across the world have come up with to combat them. We wanted to put our money where our mouths were, so this magazine is printed on 100 percent sustainable Forest Stewardship Certified paper, meaning for every tree cut down another is planted in its place. Additionally, there are tips throughout the issue which can help readers make small adjustments that will promote a greener, more environmentally-friendly lifestyle. We only have one earth, and we believe it is our responsibility to leave it in the best condition possible for those who will be using it long after we’re gone.
The editors would like to thank the staff for all of the hard work they have put into this magazine. All of the work we’ve done has paid off, and Pulse has turned into a magazine that we can all be proud of.
This semester, we’ve been inspired by the stories we’ve pursued to live more environmentally-conscious lives. We hope that this magazine can make it a bit easier and more practical for our readers to do the same.
Sincerely,
Sean Bates, Sarah Hysong and Nick Spedale
